Welcome Baby hosts 3rd Annual Coat Drive
Posted on 11.11.2014, Tuesday

Welcome Baby‘s 3rd Annual Coat Drive begins this week and lasts through December 31st! Seeking to keep children clothed and warm this winter, they are accepting donations of new or gently used children’s coats, hats and gloves (all newborn to size 7/8) to the Giving Closet. The Giving Closet provides an opportunity for families in Durham to shop at no cost for clothes, diapers and baby equipment for their young children.

Last year, Welcome Baby collected more than 350 coats and nearly 200 winter accessories during the Coat Drive. They hope to serve even more children and families this year, so please donate and help spread the word!

For more information, contact Patience Mukelabai, parent educator for the Welcome Baby Family Resource Center, at 919-560-7392 or pmukelabai@dconc.gov.

Welcome Baby Family Resource Center is a program of Durham County Cooperative Extension and is funded in part by Smart Start through the Partnership. They provide parenting education and support to families with young children, and services are available for free to all Durham County residents with newborns and children to age 5. Welcome Baby serves approximately 10,000 families a year by providing parenting classes, car seat classes, cribs, developmental newsletters and through the Giving Closet.
