This week 11/11/2020 we at The Partnership honored our United States veterans alongside the rest of the Country. We felt the need to extend that honor beyond one day, but we wanted to take this time to really recognize the sacrifice our Veterans have made to serve this Country. The Partnership believes that every moment is a teachable one. The lessons learned by our children are not only in a classroom, they are learned through life experiences. This principle is more apparent during the pandemic while children are learning at home. We serve military families with children who have parents that have served or are actively serving their country. While being isolated, changing living conditions and altering routines have been a result of dealing with the Coronavirus, this is a moment to bring awareness to something that is a way of life for our Military Families. For example, missing important family events to sacrifice for others. This is a luxury we may have taken for granted that military families deal with on a regular basis. We encourage you to take this time to educate your children on the different families that may occur within your community and why honoring our Veterans is a simple yet important acknowledgement. To celebrate our Veterans here are some books and resources for you and your children!
