Today is an exciting day for early education! The White House Summit on Early Education is a convening of prominent business leaders, philanthropists, advocates, elected officials and members of the public committed to the expansion of high-quality early education opportunities for young children across the country. Early education is one of the best investments our country can make. Participation in high-quality early learning programs provide children from all backgrounds with a strong start and a solid foundation for success in school.
President Obama will speak from approximately 12:15-12:45pm, announcing new commitments and building on his call to expand access to high-quality early childhood education to every child in America. The entire event is being live-streamed at http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/white-house-summit-early-childhood-education, so tune in now!
You can also help promote investments in early learning by participating in a Twitter storm today, Dec. 10, from 4:00-5:00 pm. Let’s make this a huge show of support for the launch of Invest in Us, a new initiative from the First Five Years Fund. Invest in Us is a challenge to public and private partners, business leaders, philanthropists, advocates, elected officials and you. Build a better nation by expanding high-quality early childhood education programs for children from birth through age five. When we invest in them, we invest in us.
