Self-Care, a term we hear all too often, but do we truly know what it means or how to properly exercise it? The term is pretty self-explanatory, however, we as a society severely underutilize self-care practices due to high stressors that present themselves in our everyday lives. There are 24 hours in a day and it still doesn’t seem to be enough time for you to take care of one’s self in the midst of all of today’s hustle and bustle. Life presents us with a plethora of responsibilities that can apply an immense amount of pressure to any person. Whether it be pressure to be the best employee, parent, student, or all of the above! The pandemic has added an extra layer of pressure to the typical dynamic of everyone’s life. In short, we know this time has been tough on some of the families we serve, even if you feel that you are doing fine during this pandemic the reality is the circumstances we are currently living in are not normal. Self-care is more important now than ever. Here at the Partnership, we believe that mental/ emotional health resources are just as important for our families as providing educational resources.
