d2l15webgraphicJoin the movement to protect children in the Triangle with free training through the YMCA’s Darkness to Light Initiative. The YMCA has partnered with the national non-profit Darkness to Light to train adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The free training focuses on each adult’s responsibility in preventing child sexual abuse and the role that our community can play in creating awareness and knowledge surrounding child protective behaviors.

The Stewards of Children training is an evidence-informed prevention solution that increases knowledge, improves attitudes, and changes behaviors. It offers practical prevention training with a conversational, real-world approach.  The training is free and is applicable for all adults: every parent, neighbor, educator, coach, tutor, teacher, community advocate, employee, volunteer, and responsible and caring adult is encouraged to broaden their scope of experience and attend a Stewards of Children training. Participants will receive an interactive workbook designed to facilitate discussion, reinforce key concepts and serve as a resource guide and personal action plan for resolving child sexual abuse.

Click here to make a commitment to protecting children by signing up for a free local training, and please spread the word about this opportunity. Help keep more children safe by providing these valuable tools to as many adults as possible!
