NC Pre-K/Durham Pre-K Specialist

Marcene is an educational advocate who is passionate about ensuring all children have access to quality education and has more than two decades in advocacy and support experience. She is highly successful in building professional relationships, connecting with families in support of their children. She has dedicated many years helping to support the needs of students. She firmly believes that a commitment to building a strong foundation for a child is the key for educational success. She started her education career as an Education Specialist and worked her way up to becoming an Advocate. Working at the District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency, the District of Columbia Public Schools, the National Center for Children and Families and Durham Head Start. Marcene received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Bennett College in Greensboro, NC and Masters in Education from The George Washington University in the District of Columbia.
