Emilene is the Family Services and Health Manager for DPfC’s Early Head Start program. She leads our team of Family Services Coordinators and works with them to build goal-oriented relationships with the parents and caretakers of the infants and toddlers enrolled in Early Head Start. Emilene collaborates with local community partners providing family support and health services. Her work is guided by the Head Start Parent, Family and Community Engagement Framework to engage families and the community in achieving positive outcomes for Durham County children and families. Emilene has been working with DPfC since 2020. She has previous experience working in Health and Human Services for families with young children through the Women, Infants and Children’s (WIC) program. Emilene’s educational background includes a Masters in Nutrition from Meredith College with an emphasis on Community Food Security.
