Are you looking for ways to get involved in the decisions made in your community? If you are a Durham resident you are eligible to engage in Participatory Budgeting! Participatory budgeting (PB) is a process of democratic deliberation and decision-making, in which ordinary people decide how to allocate part of a municipal or public budget. Participatory budgeting allows residents to identify, discuss, and prioritize public spending projects, and gives them the power to make real decisions about how money is spent. Here you will find the PB Project Listing that can help you identify which projects are receiving funding in your community! These projects involve transportation, community centers and other efforts with a City Council approved budget of $2.4M. You have between now and June 6th to vote! Click here to follow voting instructions so your voice can be heard!
