The Kidcycle Consignment Sale is taking place today through Sunday, Oct. 11th at Northgate Mall. Featuring gently used children’s and maternity clothes, toys, and children’s furniture, the sale benefits the Diaper Bank of North Carolina, a nonprofit that works to ensure children living in poverty receive the diapers they need.
The Kidcycle Consignment Sale began as a way for parents to recycle and save money, but it has since evolved into a way to help parents keep babies clean and dry. Diapers are expensive and not covered by most nutrition programs or food stamps utilized by many low-income families. When diapers are not changed frequently, the risk of health problems, stress and discomfort greatly increases.
Now, 100% percent of the proceeds from Kidcycle go to the Diaper Bank, providing thousands of diapers for local children in need. There will also be a “diaper drop” this weekend for people who want to contribute without purchasing anything at the sale.
“Kidcycle’s Fall & Winter Sale represents a win-win for our community,” said Michelle Old, co-founder of Kidcycle and the executive director of the Diaper Bank of North Carolina. “We are excited about the opportunity to help both our consignors and babies in need benefit from the sale’s success.”
