Our 20th Anniversary Celebration, Kids Rock, is finally here!

We are so thrilled to celebrate 20 years of preparing Durham’s children to succeed with all of you. We have come so far from the early days of Smart Start, evolving from a group of concerned citizens into a comprehensive network touching all 23,000 young children across Durham County. And we still have a lot of work ahead of us.

We are so proud to serve as the convener and facilitator of Durham’s early childhood system. We are your Partnership. We don’t just operate in Durham, we belong to Durham. Everything that has been accomplished during our first 20 years is a testament to this community’s passion and investment in young children.

We’d like to take a moment to thank our sponsors for tonight’s event!

Gold Sponsor: PNC

Silver Sponsors: Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC; Duke’s Office of Durham and Regional Affairs

Table Sponsors: Canvas On Demand; Mechanics and Farmers Bank; Nurse Care of North Carolina; Primary Colors Early Learning Center & Triangle Day Care Center; Keeva & Lauren Kase; Barbara & Rob VanDewoestine

In-Kind Sponsors and Friends: The Durham Hotel; Fullsteam Brewery; The Herald-Sun; Justin Cook, Photographer; Mutual Distributing Company; Mystic Bourbon Liquor; Rockwood Furniture; Telepathic Graphics; and Videoso Studios

We’d also like to extend a huge thank-you to the event planning committee:

Drew Cummings, Durham County Government; Frances Dyer, Community Volunteer; Keeva Kase, Bull City Forward; Diana Medoff, Community Volnteer; Delphine Sellars, Durham County Cooperative Extension; Kara Turner, Primary Colors Early Learning Center; Barbara VanDewoestine, Committee Chair; Angie Welsh, United Way and former Board Chair.

Special thanks also goes to our musical guest Nnenna Freelon, Governor James B. Hunt, Jr., and Kidznotes, appearing courtesy of Ellen & Ken Reckhow and Barker & Cavett French.

This event could not happen without all of your support, and we are so grateful for your commitment to the Partnership and young children in Durham. For those of you who are joining us tonight, we look forward to seeing you soon!
