December is here and there are many ways to express your holiday cheer! The Partnership is always searching for ways to include literacy in the conversation. Literacy for children is a gateway that can bridge the gap in a child’s understanding of the world around them. Written stories are also a way to share with your child some fond holiday memories and traditions you hold near and dear from your childhood. If you are on the hunt for some classic and even new holiday books to add to your child’s library, we’ve got you covered!
Question of the Week
Question: Where can I get emergency assistance if I have been impacted by COVID-19?
Answer: Central Piedmont Community Action, Inc. is assisting low income families who have been impacted by COVID-19 through the CARES NC funding. Families can apply at https://www.cpcanc.org/caresnc to receive assistance for services, such as rent/mortgage assistance, educational support, utility assistance, and more. Clients will receive funding based on the availability of funds and the individual needs of the clients. Families can check to see if they are eligible to apply based on the table for federal poverty guidelines determined from family size and income, listed on the website above. Applicants will be contacted with next steps after their application is complete. For more information, visit the website or call (919) 797-0888.
