Governor Roy Cooper, alongside a group of governors from various states, is leading a crucial initiative to protect and enhance funding for early childhood education on the federal level. Recognizing the pivotal role early childhood education plays in supporting families, the governors have called upon Congress to increase recurring federal investment in early childhood education as they develop the budget for Fiscal Year 2024. In a joint letter addressed to Congressional leaders, these governors highlight the urgent need for more federal support in order to ensure quality childcare remains accessible to all families.
