Governor Cooper has proclaimed October 2022 as Farm to School and Early Care and Education Month in North Carolina. The Governor encourages kids and adults to taste and learn about North Carolina grown produce for the NC Crunch and to recognize and thank all those who contribute to feeding our kids and communities – from farmers, farm workers, and food hub distributors, to school and early care nutrition professionals, educators, garden coordinators, bus drivers, and transportation professionals. To learn more about our partners at The Farm to School Coalition of NC please see the link below.
At the Partnership our Director of Programs Brittany Gregory and Program Coordinator Kimberly Moore have selected 14 of site that will be getting garden kits, curriculum and gardening educational resources. At this time, one of our sites at Kiddie Kollege has a garden that is thriving! To learn more about our Farm to ECE program and the work that our sites will be doing, alongside with our local gardens that help serve and support in teaching families about farming, nutrition and cooking please see the links below!
To ensure every child in Durham enters school ready to succeed, we lead community strategies for children birth to age 5 and their families that promote healthy development and learning and enhance access to high-quality care.
