Empowering Journeys: USCIS Afghan Support Center Comes to Raleigh-Durham

Durham’s Partnership for Children is delighted to announce an upcoming event that aims to be a beacon of support for our Afghan community members seeking to build new lives in the United States. The USCIS Afghan Support Center will be hosted at the Durham Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom, located at 301 W. Morgan St., Durham, NC 27701, from Wednesday, January 17, to Saturday, January 20. 

A Gathering of Support: What to Expect? 

This four-day event, offered at no cost, provides a unique opportunity for Afghans to engage with dedicated staff from U.S., North Carolina state, and government agencies. Representatives from a diverse range of service providers will be on hand, ensuring that you have the essential support needed to successfully make the United States your home. 

Comprehensive Services Available (at no cost): 

– U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) 

– Legal Assistance 

– Housing Assistance 

– Employment Assistance 

– Mental Wellness Counseling 

– Medical Assistance 

The doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, to Friday, January 19, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 20. These extensive hours are designed to accommodate diverse schedules, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to participate.
