Durhm’s Partnership for Children is under Construction! New Beginings are approaching
Posted on 06.23.2022, Thursday

Dear Readers,

My name is Kayla Grigsby, and for the past two years I have been the Community Awareness Coordinator at Durham’s Partnership for Children. I have enjoyed my time here at The Partnership, helping the families we serve find resources and giving the community information on our organization’s initiatives! Durham’s Partnership for Children’s mission is to lay the foundation for children 0-5 to succeed when they enter the school system by providing high quality education and resources. Since being employed under Executive Director, Danielle Johnson, I’ve learned how taking a holistic and culturally competent approach makes an immense difference in how we serve our families. It’s not just about the teachers in the classroom, the curriculum, parent participation, advocacy, funding, it’s a culmination of all of these factors. The reality is the children and families of Durham County need us to collectively support and partner where we can to provide the best education for our young children. I am proud to say that a part of my career has been spent in a place with 28 years dedicated to enhancing the education of young children. During my time here I have created the “Planting Seeds with The Partnership Podcast” and contributed to weekly blog posts, graphic design and communications for DPFC. As my time at the Partnership concludes, I am excited for the organization’s growth and about the new Community Awareness Coordinator creating a new lens to focus on DPFC’s work!  Stay tuned for what Durham’s partnership for Children has in store!

Sincerely,

Kayla Grigsby
