Last week, Durham Early Head Start families celebrated the end of the year with a Spring Picnic at Wheels Fun Park. The fun-filled event was a huge success, with more than 200 families in attendance!
Children enjoyed the beautiful weather and played outside, and as always, they had a blast in the ball pit and obstacle course. Everyone had a great meal together, and each mom received a Mother’s Day bouquet of flowers and packets of seeds to plant flowers. There were also some amazing raffle prizes – including restaurant gift cards, Duke merchandise, and tickets to a Durham Bulls game. Speaking of the Durham Bulls, Wool E. Bull himself even stopped by for a visit! The children were thrilled to see Wool E., who took pictures, snagged some pizza, and played putt-putt with his adoring fans. It was a wonderful way to share some spring fun with the families and staff and to celebrate all that DEHS does for the community throughout the year.
