DPfC Rocks NCCARES360!
NCCARES360 is a network that unites health care and human services organizations with a shared technology that enables a coordinated, community-oriented, person-centered approach for delivering care in North Carolina. The Partnership uses this referral service and providers electronically connect those with identified needs to community resources in Durham County. The Partnership is able to refer individuals and families to agencies that suit their needs. Some of these resources include housing and food assistance and much more. AS of last week, Durham’s Partnership for Children is ranked 1st in referrals out of 29 other Smart Start Programs and ranked number 32 in referrals in organizations across the State of North Carolina. Question of the Week
Question: What is the Pandemic – Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program and how can I access this resource?
Answer: The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program will help to provide groceries for more than 800,000 children who normally receive free and reduced lunch at school. Families will receive approximately $370 in total P-EBT benefits per child, provided over two installments, and these funds can be used to purchase food items from authorized retailers, including most major grocery stores. Families do not need to apply to receive these services. Those who already receive Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) will have the funds transferred automatically to their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and those who are not currently receiving FNS will have an EBT card mailed to them in the next few weeks. All unused benefits will rollover from month-to-month, but must be used within 365 days.
