The Summer is winding down and it is time to hunker down on early education enrollment. Enrolling your child in Durham Early Head Start and Durham NC PreK can seem like a daunting task. Fortunately, there are resources to aid you on the path to finding high-quality childcare! If you have a child 2 years of age or younger by August 31st, 2021 your child may qualify for Durham Early Head Start. If your child turns 4 by August 31st, 2021 your child may be eligible for Durham’s NC Pre K program. Applying for these programs is the first step in securing your child’s spot for high-quality education. Identifying child care centers in your area may also be on your list of things to do. Child Care Services Association has a CCRC tool to help refer families to legally licensed high–quality programs in your zip code. Lastly, on your search for high-quality childcare, one question comes to mind; “Is this affordable?”. There are subsidies and scholarships that your family may qualify for to assist and offset the costs to give you peace of mind. One of the Partnership’s goal is to provide the community with resources and accurate information on early childcare. We want to take the guesswork out of selecting childcare for your family and provide you with the tools to select the childcare option best designed for your children to succeed. Affordable childcare is attainable for you!
To ensure every child in Durham enters school ready to succeed, we lead community strategies for children birth to age 5 and their families that promote healthy development and learning and enhance access to high-quality care.
