Durham’s Partnership for Children is passionate about literacy in early childhood education. As we serve families and children in Durham County, we are delighted when the community comes alongside us to continue providing resources and support to ensure school readiness. A local Girl Scout troop kept The Partnership in mind while figuring out how they would create a project that spoke to who they are as young women while impacting the community. Girl Scout Troop 1141 or better known as “Team Book Worm” under the Leadership of Kat Gabay, created a lending library just for our families! Their love for reading and literacy inspired their amazing handmade lending library and we are so thankful to house their vision and hard work! Their passion for reading and literacy not only aligns with the mission of our organization, it embodies our mission. The lending library was presented to The Partnership on October 11th 2021. The library will serve as a space where families we serve can check out and return books as they are visiting our building. Join us in Thanking Team Book Worm for their amazing work and helping DPFC share the gift of literacy!
