DCEFH is made up of 4 Durham non-profits: Urban Ministries of Durham, Families Moving Forward, Housing for New Hope, and the Partnership. DCEFH helps homeless and unstably housed families: secure and maintain housing; improve overall self-sufficiency in order to promote family stability and break the cycle of poverty; address the trauma homeless children and adults experience; and enhance school readiness for young children.
Last year DCEFH served 836 individuals in families. This award will provide more case managers needed to provide the quality of supportive services families in shelter/aftercare require, a space to co-locate two agencies’ staff and programming for improved aftercare and rapid re-housing outcomes, and staff training on trauma-informed care, racial equity, and building strong family-child relationships. This award will be a true Game Changer for the Durham Collaborative to End Family Homelessness and all the lives these partner agencies impact together!
