Question of the Week
Question: Where can I go to get free clothing items for my children?
Answer: Welcome Baby has a Giving Closet that is open every Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM for families by appointment only. Call (919) 560 – 7150 to make your appointment and be sure to arrive on time to check in at the entryway. Families are allowed to take up to 10 items of clothing per child with a limit of 30 for the entire family. Visit https://www.facebook.com/welcomebabydurham/ to fill out the Giving Closet order form and return it to email@example.com by Tuesday at 5 PM. Diapers will not be distributed on this day. This is open to families of Durham County only, so you will be asked to provide proof of residency, your child’s birth certificate or Medicaid, and a parent’s ID. If you miss your appointment, you will need to reschedule for the following Thursday. For more information, visit the Welcome Baby Facebook page listed above.
To ensure every child in Durham enters school ready to succeed, we lead community strategies for children birth to age 5 and their families that promote healthy development and learning and enhance access to high quality care.
