A Community Health Assessment of Kindergarten Children Entering Durham Public Schools
A partnership between Durham Public Schools and Durham’s Partnership for Children
Kindergarten Health Assessment (KHA) Project SummaryBackground: Per North Carolina law, Kindergarten Health Assessment (KHA) forms are required for all students entering kindergarten in NC public schools. This form contains a wealth of information on children’s health and is used to identify children at school entry with any health problems that may interfere with school performance. By analyzing the KHA forms for all kindergarteners, we will learn important information about the health needs of the children in our community such as the following:
o Developmental Screening Tools o Medical Home o Health Insurance o Health and Physical Well-Being o Emotional and Social Development o Cognition and General Knowledge o Approaches to Learning o Language Development and Communication |
